At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced healthcare leader with a passion for holistic palliative and end of life care, to lead and develop our Patient & Carer Wellbeing and Community Support Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Clinical Leadership team, within a forward-thinking hospice environment, shaping and innovating patient-centred services.

You’ll provide operational leadership for Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, a Clinical Administrator, trained Volunteers, and a Community Support Services Manager.

Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners, you’ll ensure services remain responsive and aligned to local need. You’ll also undertake clinical duties as part of your work plan.

You’ll work on site at our hospices in Rugby, Warwick and Coventry. Coventry will be your main base.

About you

We are looking for an NMC-Registered Nurse with:

  • Post-registration Palliative Care qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of leading a team and managing change
  • Experience in palliative care or community settings, including needs assessment / care planning, symptom assessment and management for patients with life-limiting illness
  • Ability to place the patient and family at the centre of care
  • Communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • The right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)

Similar job titles include: Band 6 Nurse; Clinical Lead; Service Lead; Community Lead.

An enhanced DBS check will be required, including children’s and adults’ barring list checks, because you’ll be providing healthcare to patients and families. We will arrange and cover the cost of this check, if you are offered the role.
