About us
St Nicholas Hospice Care is a much-loved local charity supporting people across West Suffolk and Thetford who are living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses. We provide compassionate, specialist care not only to patients, but also to their families and loved ones—offering everything from medical support to bereavement care and practical help.

We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to join our warehouse team. The role is responsible for the sorting of donated goods within the warehouse as well as assisting with all aspects of the warehouse operation.

What you’ll be doing
• Leading the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring efficient goods-in and goods-out processes
• Managing stock flow and distribution to retail outlets, maximising value and recycling opportunities
• Supervising and developing a team of staff, drivers and volunteers
• Ensuring high standards of health and safety, including risk assessments and training
• Overseeing vehicle logistics, maintenance and route planning
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised working environment

About you
• Have experience in warehouse, logistics or retail operations
• Be a confident leader with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team
• Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Be hands-on, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Have a good understanding of health and safety practices
• Be passionate about sustainability and the role of charity retail

Will involve working five days over a seven-day rota Monday to Sunday inclusive.
