Job Title: Waking Night Worker

Hours of Work: 10 hours per night – shift pattern 4 nights on, 4 nights off Averaged hours are 33.25 hours per week.
Key Performance Objectives:
You will play an essential role in creating a safe, secure and supportive environment for our residents during night time hours. Your vigilance and interpersonal skills are key to preventing problems and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for all.
As a waking night worker, your role is crucial in ensuing the well-being of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
Resident Support – To provide attentive support to residents throughout the night, handling all situations and incidents which may occur efficiently, professionally and in line with policy. You will maintain a visible presence in the service, providing reassurance and demonstrating Alabaré values.
Relationship Building – To foster positive relationships with residents, utilising these connections to better understand how to interact with clients, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
• Proactive Intervention - Identify potential issues early, intervene and diffuse situations before they escalate.
Safety and Security - Prioritise the safety and security of all residents, contributing to the overall stability of the wider service. The role involves carrying out housing management functions within the scheme including completing regular patrols and health & safety checks around the building, both internally and externally.
Ensure the building is maintained to high standards of cleanliness, preparing beds and completing basic cleaning and laundry duties as required Communicate regularly with necessary staff to report any concerns
Maintain record - Maintain records as required in line with GDPR and relevant policies Identify service users individual support needs and through consultation and agreement with the service user (and where appropriate other agencies) to assist them in meeting their personal housing plan’s required actions and maintain placement
This post will require lone working. Our lone working policy requires that staff carry a
service mobile and adhere to the lone working policy
