Are you interested in becoming more involved in the strategic future of the Institute? IOM3 has a portfolio of 16 scholarly journals we produce with our publishing partners. To nurture our relationship with our publisher, authors and readers, IOM3 is seeking to recruit 2 new committee members for its Scholarly Publications Committee (SPC). Meeting about four times a year, the SPC will provide strategic, non-executive advisory support and direction for its scholarly publications programme from authors, editors and users of scholarly journals.

As a committee member, you will help to:

  • Bring researcher and stakeholder perspectives into the journals programme
  • Shape the strategic direction of IOM3’s publishing activity
  • Explore new ideas, topics, and opportunities for growth

We are seeking members from any IOM3 technical background with experience in:

  • Publishing scholarly research;
  • Producing scholarly research for publication;
  • Editing scholarly publications; or
  • Working for a scholarly publisher

We want to ensure that there is a balance in the committee which we expect will have members who might be employed in companies, research organisations or academia.

Please submit a CV and a statement of interest, including what you plan to do to support members and to improve equality, diversity, and inclusion in this role, to Anita Horton, Head of Governance (anita.horton@iom3.org) by close of business on Monday 1st June 2026.

Please also contact Anita if you would like to arrange an informal discussion about these volunteer roles.

Don’t meet every requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At IOM3 we are building a diverse and inclusive Institute. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the role description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the right candidate for this or other roles.
