About the role

Citizens Advice Mid Mercia is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our community connections service delivering across Derbyshire called, Together Derbyshire. You will be working specifically in High Peak & Derbyshire Dales, with the primary aim of recruiting, developing and supporting volunteers to help reduce loneliness and social isolation through community-led action.

Working alongside communities, volunteers and partner organisations, you will build a strong network of Community Builder Volunteers and community leaders who empower local people to make connections, strengthen community networks and create opportunities for social participation.

Responsibilities / Key Tasks:

  • Recruit, coordinate and retain a diverse network of volunteers across High Peak & Derbyshire Dales promoting volunteering opportunities within local communities

  • Deliver volunteer induction, training, supervision and ongoing support, ensuring volunteers feel valued, confident and equipped for their roles

  • Lead safer recruitment processes and maintain high standards of safeguarding, quality assurance and volunteer practice

  • Develop Community Builder Volunteers as local ambassadors and community leaders, supporting them to strengthen community networks and local activities

  • Monitor volunteer engagement, satisfaction and impact, maintaining accurate records and contributing to service reporting and evaluation

  • Monitor, evaluate and report on activities and outcomes, demonstrating the impact of community-led approaches on health, wellbeing and social connectedness
