Our Volunteer Clothes Sorters help transform generous clothing donations into vital funds that support The Air Ambulance Service’s lifesaving work.

Working behind the scenes in one of our retail locations, you’ll sort, prepare and organise donated clothing, shoes and accessories, ensuring high-quality items are ready for sale in our charity shops. Every item you help process contributes to keeping our helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding when every second counts.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Sort donated clothing, footwear and accessories according to quality and suitability for resale.
  • Inspect items for cleanliness, condition and any damage.
  • Prepare clothing for display, including hanging, sizing and organising garments where required.
  • Separate items for recycling where they are not suitable for sale.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and organised stockroom.
  • Work with retail staff and fellow volunteers to ensure a steady flow of stock to the shop floor.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
  • Represent The Air Ambulance Service positively through your commitment and teamwork.

  • The ability to organise and prioritise tasks.
  • A willingness to undertake light manual handling activities.
