About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised UK Student Recruitment Assistant to support the delivery of the University’s UK Student Recruitment Service activity. This role contributes to driving undergraduate and postgraduate applications (across all modes of delivery), building the University’s student pipeline, and supporting the recruitment and conversion strategy.
Working as part of the University’s outward-facing recruitment team, you will help develop and maintain relationships with feeder schools, colleges, external partners and internal academic departments. You will support activity at the top of the recruitment funnel through engagement with prospective students, data capture and lead acquisition, while also contributing to activity that helps convert applications to firm offers.
Key responsibilities include supporting the planning and delivery of recruitment events such as Open Days, Walk & Talk Tours, Summer Schools, Clearing Visit Days, webinars, masterclasses and ad hoc campus visits. You will attend external exhibitions, school and college visits, and partner events, representing the University and delivering presentations that showcase the student experience.
The role also involves organising the logistics associated with recruitment activity, including travel, materials and event preparation. You will assist colleagues with project work such as copywriting, presentation materials and recruitment resources, and collaborate with academic departments to support outreach and conversion activity. You will also gather insights from events and visits to help inform future recruitment activity and support key initiatives such as the Confirmation and Clearing project.
This role involves extensive travel throughout the UK, including early starts, occasional evenings, and overnight stays. A full UK driving licence is essential.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, confidence presenting to varied audiences, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Being a graduate of Swansea University would be advantageous but is not essential.
If you are passionate about higher education, we welcome your application.

The University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity in all its practices and activities. We aim to establish an inclusive environment and welcome diverse applications from the following protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin), religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation.

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
The University is a proud bilingual institution, our Welsh Language Strategy outlines our aspiration to promote the language and enable our staff to engage with the language as an additional workplace skill and as a gateway to new cultural and social opportunities. Applications are welcome in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than those submitted in English. Welsh speakers have the right to an interview in Welsh.
