About
The Young Ealing Foundation is a place-based charity based in Ealing, West London which brings together the voluntary, statutory and private sectors in the local area to increase and improve opportunities for children, young people and families.
Our vision is to ensure all young people in Ealing can access the opportunities and support they need to grow up and lead happy and safe lives, fulfil their potential and become a valued and listened to part of the local community. We work towards this by working with and in the community to empower small, local charities to thrive and flourish to enable and advocate for sustainable, high quality service provision for children and young people.
We're looking to welcome several new trustees to our Board and are particularly keen to hear from people who can bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Lived experience of youth services or of being a young person in Ealing
- Human Resources (HR)
- Contract Law
- Leadership experience and an interest in potentially stepping into the Chair role when our current Chair's term ends in 12 months
Hours: Around 4-8 hours per month dependent on role
Salary: Voluntary - expenses only
Term: 3 years, with an option to sit a second 3-year term
Location: London Borough of Ealing
Role description:
- To ensure that the Young Ealing Foundation pursues its stated objects, as defined in its governing document, by working with the CEO to develop and agree a long-term strategy
- To ensure that the Young Ealing Foundation complies with its constitution, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
- To ensure that the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects for the benefit of the public
- To ensure that the Young Ealing Foundation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets
- To safeguard the good name and values of the Young Ealing Foundation
- To ensure the effective and efficient administration of the Young Ealing Foundation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place
- To ensure the financial stability of the Young Ealing Foundation
- To following proper and formal arrangements for the appointment, supervision, support, appraisal and remuneration of the CEO
- To use specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions and further the objectives of the Young Ealing Foundation.
