About the role

The post holder will support the delivery of stock condition and energy‑related surveys across RCH homes. This includes carrying out internal and external surveys, collecting accurate data, and assisting in the assessment of compliance with SHQS, Tolerable Standard, EESSH and energy efficiency requirements.

The role contributes to the wider Energy & Sustainability team by providing reliable survey information, supporting retrofit assessments, and helping maintain accurate stock condition and energy datasets.

Key responsibilities include

  • Carry out SHQS, stock condition and basic energy surveys in void and tenanted properties.
  • Support planning and delivery of the rolling 20% survey programme.
  • Maintain accurate, consistent survey data and follow agreed procedures.
  • Complete Domestic Energy Assessor training within 12 months and keep qualifications up to date.
  • Update stock condition systems and energy datasets.
  • Provide survey information to support capital works, energy improvements, retrofit and PAS 2035 activity.
  • Attend site visits, pre-start meetings and progress checks as required.
  • Communicate professionally with tenants and work collaboratively with colleagues, consultants and contractors.

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

  • Experience in property surveying, housing maintenance, energy assessment or a related field (essential).
  • Understanding of SHQS, EESSH, energy efficiency or asset management (desirable).
  • Basic IT skills, including data entry and use of mobile survey tools.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications.
