Main Purpose: We are looking to recruit an experienced Team Leader to work alongside our Service Manager. The post will be based in Hull and will lead the AST Team. You will lead, support and develop a team of Tenancy Support Workers in delivering high quality housing management services to tenants, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including SART, SHIP and organisational policies while maintaining excellent levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Performance Management
- Lead, motivate and support a team to deliver housing services effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor team performance against KPI's and service standards, providing coaching and feedback.
- Conduct regular one-to-one's appraisals, and team meetings.
- Oversee the development and regular review of client support plans and risk assessments.
Housing Management
- Oversee tenancy management, including lettings, rent arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and property inspections.
- Support staff in complex case management and decision-making.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are followed, referring to appropriate services when necessary.
Customer Service and Tenant Engagement
- Promote a tenant-first culture, ensuring that tenants are treated with respect and involved in decisions that affect them.
- Respond to and resolve escalated complains and enquiries.
Compliance and Regulation
- Ensure services comply with SART/SHIP requirements
- Ensure services comply with the Regulator of Social Housing's standards, including the Tenancy Standard and Neighbourhood and Community Standard.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement plans.
Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, local authorities, and internal departments.
- Represent the organisation in multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and community forums.
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Team Leader position supporting tenants within a housing related service.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, supported housing and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and tenant empowerment.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and understanding of multicultural issues in housing legislation and the impact of this on tenants within the Hull area
- Awareness of the support and provisions available for supporting marginalised groups within the city.
- Experience of using housing management systems.
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches or safeguarding.

- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
