The Role
We are currently recruiting two part-time Team Leaders to join our Children’s Services team in Kinning Park, Glasgow.
As a Team Leader, you will work day to day with a committed and compassionate team to ensure that every child and young person receives the highest standard of care in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. You’ll play an active role in delivering engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sensory play, and creative sessions that encourage self-expression and enjoyment.
The children and young people we support are school-aged and have complex needs, including Autism, Learning Difficulties, Epilepsy, and communication or sensory needs. Our service is a place where they can build confidence, develop skills, form meaningful relationships, and take on new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality, individualised care that meets the needs and aspirations of the people we support
- Lead by example, providing supervision, coaching, and on-shift training
- Guide staff to deliver flexible, person-centred support for children and their families
- Manage staff rotas and respond effectively to changing needs
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individual support plans
- Maintain accurate records, staff attendance, and compliance with required standards
- Support staff development, ensuring teams have the skills to deliver exceptional care
- Help deliver fun, stimulating, and creative sessions
Hours & Shift Patterns
The service operates:
- Saturday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
- Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
- Monday & Thursday: 3:30pm – 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 3:30pm – 7:30pm
- This role will involve some evening work and approximately 2 weekends out of every 4.
About You
You will have significant experience working directly with individuals who have complex care and communication needs. You’re a natural leader who motivates and guides colleagues, always striving to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and model best practice in social care.
This role could be perfect for you if:
- Hold a qualification in Social Services and Health Care at SCQF level 7 or above (or other qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes) - Desirable
- You hold SVQ Social Services and Health Care at SCQF Level 6 or above, with a willingness to work towards SCQF Level 7 or higher (or another qualification recognised by the SSSC for Supervisor registration) - Essential
- You are willing to complete the PDA Health and Social Care Supervision qualification
- You are flexible and able to work across days, evenings, and weekends
- You have strong IT and organisational skills to manage administrative tasks effectively
- You have a deep understanding of person-centred practice
- You are confident in coaching and mentoring colleagues to support their development
- You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex or sensitive information
- You bring creative and innovative ideas to overcome barriers to teaching, learning, and assessment
