The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is back again in 2026, running 5 – 31 August, and we’re excited to be part of it, once again providing incredible experiences at Edinburgh's top festival venues this summer!
Pleasance Theatre Trust will return to our Potterrow and Pleasance venues, and this year we’re also excited to be welcoming Gilded Balloon back into Teviot, after a two and a half year renovation. Hours: Minimum 10 hours per week (expected average of 3-5 shifts worked per week)

Positions Available:
We are looking for enthusiastic Team Leaders to join our dynamic commercial team for Festival 2026. As a Festival Team Leader, you will work in one of the following areas; Food & Beverage, Venue Operations, Stock or Retail.
Food & Beverage Team Leader
As an F&B Team Leader, under the Duty Managers and Venue Operations Managers (VOMs), you will lead the front-of-house operations, ensuring high standards of customer service and food/beverage quality. You'll supervise staffing and training of F&B Team Members, and adherence to premises license conditions. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, supporting commercial performance, and at times may be required to act as a key holder. You'll also ensure proper stock levels and rotation, and address any F&B outlet queries. Food and Beverage outlets operate from 8am to 4am, seven days a week during the Festival. Most shifts will be scheduled within these hours, with some extending to 6am on certain days.
Venue Operations Team Leader
As a Venue Operations Team Leader, you’ll work closely with Venue Operations Team Members to ensure exceptional service, maintain behaviour standards and cleanliness of the premises. You'll welcome and assist visitors, support staff training, and brief staff on shift. Your role includes supervising evening/event operations, assisting with security and leading in emergency situations. The role is heavily centred on ensuring the venue looks clean and can be physically demanding as you will be on your feet in a busy venue. Experience in customer service, managing queues, handling difficult customers, and knowledge of health and safety regulations are essential. A First Aid Certificate and experience in staff training would be desirable. The Venue Operation team is needed during Food and Beverage trading hours, from 8am to 4am, seven days a week during the Festival. Most shifts will be scheduled within these hours, with some extending to 6am on certain days.
Stock Team Leader
As a Stock Team Leader, you'll work closely with Stock Team Members to coordinate stock activities across outlets, ensuring smooth operations and high standards. You'll manage stock movement (involves heavy lifting), maintain cleanliness in cellars and stores, and uphold strict stock control procedures. Your role involves verifying stock against orders, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with premises license conditions. You'll lead and motivate the stock team, ensuring they provide exceptional service. Experience in stock management, team leadership, and knowledge of health and safety regulations are essential. A full UK Driver’s License is required, with a Personal Alcohol License being desirable. The Stock Team is needed during Food and Beverage trading hours, from 8am to 4am, seven days a week during the Festival. Most shifts will typically be scheduled between 6:30am and 3pm.
Retail Team Leader (no current vacancies so unavailable as first choice, positions may become available)
As a Retail Team Leader, you'll work closely with Retail Team Members to ensure the smooth daily operation of the outlet. Your role involves supporting and motivating staff to maintain high customer service standards and operational efficiency. You'll develop team members' customer care skills and ensure adherence to Health & Safety, COSHH, Licensing, and fire regulations. Responsibilities include merchandising stock, operating tills, following cash control procedures, and ensuring building security. You'll assist the Retail Operations Manager with merchandising and waste control. Retail outlets may operate from 9am to 4am, seven days a week during the Festival. Staff must be available to work during these hours.

The recruitment process will include a one-way video interview, which you will be invited to complete once your application is submitted. This is super flexible and can be done at a time and location of your choosing. The video interview must be completed by 13th May. For Team Leader roles, if you are shortlisted after the one-way video interview you will also be invited to a Microsoft Teams interview with one of the Venue Managers. Your interview will be up to 30 minutes long.
You must be available to work 30 July – 31 August 2026 inclusively (for Retail TL only, 3 August – 6 September inclusively). This includes compulsory in-person training, without which you will not be able to work for us.
