Job SummaryWe are seeking to recruit a Teaching Quality Assurance Senior Specialist to join our Quality Directorate.
Purpose of the role:The Teaching Quality Senior Specialist is responsible for the continuous sampling, recording and reporting of Learning Partner performance against the NEBOSH accreditation agreement and Learning Partner Programme, in order to enhance the quality of education, improve the learner experience, protect organisational reputation, and ensure a robust, fair, and reliable quality management process.
The Teaching Practice Quality Reviewis specifically concerned with teaching and assessment practice, including how tutors engage learners and how feedback is provided to support progress and achievement. Through guided discussion, the review aims to gain a richer understanding of how quality is applied in teaching practice. The insights gathered allow NEBOSH to recognise effective practice, identify development opportunities, and promote a consistent, high-quality learner experience across the Learning Partner network.What will you be doing:- Inspecting, monitoring, recording, and reporting quality data for performance management, including preparing performance reports that detail deviations and corrective actions in line with NEBOSH policy and procedure.
- Supporting all aspects of the teaching quality system, from review planning and implementation to feedback, progress reviews, and the identification and closure of improvement gaps.
- Providing information, advice, and guidance to service users to drive continuous improvement
- Assisting in the development and delivery of training modules for data quality and teaching practice
- Mentoring, coaching, and supporting Learning Partners to embed formative assessment and andragogical approaches into teaching practice, ensuring feedback is constructive and learning is relevant, practical, and accessible for adult learners.
- Undertaking virtual and physical engagements with UK and international Learning Partners, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, recognising strengths, and supporting development opportunities in teaching and assessment practice.
- Collaborating with other NEBOSH departments and external stakeholders to maintain up-to-date intelligence on Learning Partner performance and ensure the highest standards of learner experience and organisational integrity.
Our ideal candidate will have the following demonstrable competence:
Essential- A minimum Level 3 education and training qualification (EAT, A1, V1, D32/33, D34)
- A minimum Level 4 quality assurance qualification (IQA, EQA)
- Understanding of the principles and practices of internal and external quality assurance
- Experience of conducting investigative interviews and/or questioning techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrable ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of reliable sources, triangulating evidence from learner activities, tutor feedback, and guided discussion to make accurate, evidence-based recommendations and decisions.
- Ability to distinguish between compliance monitoring and evaluation of teaching practice, ensuring both are addressed proportionately and with professional judgement.
- Delivering quality results and service objectives efficiently, using appropriate media and maintaining professional excellence.
- Can demonstrate a deep understanding of andragogical principles and proven experience supporting training providers to deliver effective learning for adult learners, including the application of adult learning theory in the evaluation and enhancement of teaching and assessment practice.
- A flexible approach to managing changing priorities with demonstrable organisation and planning knowledge and skills.
35 hours Monday – FridayWork base:
The role will be home based with some travel in the UK, therefore, applications from only UK based candidates will be considered.There may also be international travel, so a current passport is essential.
Salary:Up to £38,858 per annum based on experience.
