The Role
We are now recruiting for a Tax Compliance Assistant to join our office in either Carlisle or Penrith and be part of the wider Tax Consultancy Service Line.
The main elements of this role will include:
- Being responsible for entering Tax information into the relevant sections of our Tax software ready for review by a Tax Compliance Manager
- Using technical tax knowledge to identify issues/opportunities
- Dealing with queries from clients
- Sending reminders to clients for required / missing information
- Completing electronic submissions of returns to HMRC
- Reporting any HMRC compliance enquiry notices to the Tax Compliance Manager
The Candidate
In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:
- A Full UK Driving Licence
- ATT (desirable) but "Qualified by Experience" candidates will also be considered for this position
- Experience of working in an Accounting / Tax Compliance capacity at an Accountancy Practice
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
- A dedicated team player and willing to assist colleagues within the team where possible
- Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure
- Able to use initiatives and have great organisation / problem solving skills
- Keen to become part of a dynamic team
