About The Role

We are recruiting for a part time Support Worker, working 15 hours per week to work in our Camden services.
Camden Shared Houses provides semi‑independent, single‑sex accommodation across six sites in the Camden area, supporting 49 clients with a history of homelessness. The service supports individuals who are close to independent living or engaging with services for needs such as substance misuse, physical and mental health, ESOL, employment, volunteering, or securing permanent housing, including ex‑offenders and Jigsaw clients. Support is flexible and person‑centred, using a trauma‑informed approach, with stays of up to 18 months that can be extended based on need and progress. The service operates four male and two female projects, staffed by project workers based across sites, and acts as a stepping stone to independent accommodation, typically in the private rented sector.
What you'll be doing
In the role of Project Worker, you will support clients on their journey toward increased independence. You will manage a caseload of residents, helping them develop the skills and confidence required to move on to appropriate longer‑term or independent accommodation. The role focuses on empowering residents to build on their strengths, develop practical life skills, and maintain independence in the community.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic people who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
If you have a good understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless people; personal experience of homelessness yourself and some experience of supporting vulnerable people through a process of change, we encourage you to apply.
If you have good interpersonal and listening skills; patience and resilience we will provide you with the knowledge and training, you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centered way.
