Be part of something extraordinary
At SOL, everything we do is guided by our values:
Do the right thing. Make a difference. Take responsibility. Challenge the status quo. Look at the world from different perspectives. Find joy in the ordinary.
We're looking for compassionate, experienced and motivated people to join our growing Enhanced Care & Support team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a brand-new support team around one young man, while also supporting other individuals across our EC&S services.
Every person we support is unique, and every day is different. We're looking for people who can build meaningful relationships, think creatively and provide truly person-centred support that enables people to live the lives they choose.
Meet Sam
"Hi, I'm Sam and I'm 16 years old.
I'm fun, energetic and adventurous. I'm always up for trying something new and I love being outdoors, whether that's going for a walk or simply getting some fresh air.
I'm an only child and my mum is a huge part of my life. She's really important to me and is helping to build my new support team because we both want to find people who'll get to know me for who I am.
I'd love to make new friends, try new activities and build my confidence. While I'm sociable, I also enjoy having my own space and quiet time when I need it.
I enjoy listening to George Ezra, watching Peppa Pig, Mickey Mouse and Fireman Sam, swimming, bouncing on trampolines, visiting the zoo and spending time with animals. Meerkats and cows are definitely my favourites!
I love sensory things like fluff, blankets, pillows, bubbles, and balloons. These are very important to me.
I also enjoy shopping, especially choosing my own fruit and vegetables. Although I enjoy the occasional treat, such as doughnuts, a Greggs visit, or a baked tattie. I like making my own choices and being as independent as possible.
I have been living in hospital for an extended period of time and I'm looking forward to moving into my own house and making this my own with talks of having my own adapted trampoline outside, I'm looking for people that will support me on this journey.
I have a learning disability and autism. I need support throughout the day and night to help keep me safe, achieve my goals and enjoy the things that matter most to me. More than anything, I want people around me who see me as a young person first - not my diagnosis."
Could you be part of my team?
I'm looking for people who are:
- Kind, patient and compassionate
- Positive, energetic and able to keep up with my enthusiasm
- Attentive and responsive to my individual needs
- Calm and reassuring when I need support
- Happy to try new experiences alongside me
- Committed to helping me build my independence, confidence and community connections
About the role
While working with Sam will be a key part of your role, you'll also provide person-centred support to other individuals across our Enhanced Care & Support services.
This means no two days are the same. You could be supporting someone to develop life skills, access education or employment, enjoy activities in their community, build relationships, or simply achieve the goals that matter most to them.
We're looking for people who share our values, can adapt to different situations and genuinely believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a full and meaningful life.
Why SOL?
At SOL, you'll be more than a Support Worker. You'll become part of a team that's committed to doing the right thing, empowering people to achieve their goals and creating opportunities for everyone we support to live with dignity, independence and purpose.
If you're looking for a career where you can build lasting relationships, be part of something meaningful and make a genuine difference every single day, we'd love to hear from you.
