Job Description

Could You Help Sarah and James* Live the Lives They Choose?

Looking for a career that's rewarding, meaningful and full of variety? No previous experience in social care is needed – just the right values, a positive attitude and a willingness to make a difference.

We're looking for Relief (Bank) Support Workers to join our team in Westoning, to support fantastic people, like Sarah and James, to live full and meaningful lives in their own home.

Every day is different, but one thing stays the same: you'll be helping people live life on their terms, build independence, enjoy the things they love and try new experiences.

Meet Sarah and James

Who better to tell you about the role than Sarah and James themselves?

While they communicate in their own unique ways, they're very good at showing us what matters to them and what they look for in great support.

At Home We Love It When People...

  • Bring energy, laughter and a relaxed atmosphere.
  • Join in with singing our favourite songs.
  • Get creative with games, stories and silly voices.
  • Turn everyday routines into enjoyable moments.
  • Take time to get to know us and what makes us smile.

We Enjoy Getting Out and About

  • Visiting MacIntyre's Learning Centre in Ampthill to see friends and take part in activities.
  • Enjoying trips to local parks, picnics and time outdoors when the weather is good.
  • Exploring new places and experiences with people we trust.

We Also Value Time to Relax

  • Listening to music – especially classic 60s hits and Elvis.
  • Watching our favourite television programmes.
  • Trying new activities and discovering new interests with support from imaginative staff.

Sarah and James are full of personality, fun and individuality. They are looking for people who will take the time to understand them, build genuine relationships and support them to live lives that make sense to them.

About the Role

This is a Relief (Bank) position, providing cover for holidays, sickness, training and other planned or unplanned absences.

Shifts may include:

  • Weekdays
  • Weekends
  • Bank Holidays
  • Sleep-ins
  • Waking nights

Relief work offers flexibility around your existing commitments. Rotas are usually planned around a month in advance, and there is no obligation to accept shifts offered.

Whether you're looking for extra work, exploring a future career in social care or simply want to make a positive difference in people's lives, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What You'll Need

A manual driving licence is essential, as being able to drive helps Sarah and James access the people, places and activities they enjoy.

This isn't about rushing between appointments. It's about supporting people to enjoy their day, pursue their interests and live life their way.
