Our vision is for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy, healthy lives.
We’re here to support people with a learning disability, their families, and their carers. We also campaign for a kinder, fairer and more inclusive society, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
At Mencap, everyone plays a part. Whether you’re directly supporting people, offering advice, or working alongside colleagues, we all work together to make a difference.

- We believe in learning and growing every day. It’s okay to make mistakes — what matters is that we learn from them and make positive changes
- Everyone should feel respected, valued and safe to be themselves at work
To support this, we have a range of Belonging Network Groups that meet online and are open to all colleagues. These include groups for people who identify as Black and Asian, LGBTQIA+, disabled or living with a long‑term health condition, women, parents and carers — as well as allies.
