About Dimensions
About the role
We’re looking for kind, patient and values-driven Support Workers to join our warm and friendly team in Bridgend, where you’ll be supporting three wonderful gentlemen in their 60s who live busy, social and fulfilling lives. Each person has their own personality and interests, and you’ll play an important part in helping them enjoy each day in the way that suits them best.
Your role will be varied, meaningful and fun. You might be helping someone get out and about in the community, supporting two of the gents to use public transport, or joining in with activities like gardening, crafts, cooking or attending social events. One gentleman loves his evening soaps, while another enjoys trips to the pub and going on holidays—so no two days will ever feel the same.
You’ll provide full support where needed, including personal care, hoisting and daily medication prompts, as well as lots of encouragement with day-to-day tasks such as household chores, reading and writing practice, and maintaining routines.
Shifts: This is a lone-working role with a mixture of daytime, evening and sleep-in shifts, including alternate weekends.
Shift times include: 10am - 3pm / 3pm - 11pm sleep In, then 7am - 3pm / 4pm - 9pm.
Drivers license: Full UK manual drivers license required.
If you’re someone who genuinely cares about helping others live their best life, we’d love to hear from you.
About you
To thrive as a Support Worker in this home, you will be someone who is compassionate, reliable, and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference in people’s lives. You don’t need previous experience in social care, but you do need the right values, the willingness to learn, and the confidence to support individuals to live the life they choose.
You’ll bring strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with the people you support, their families, and your colleagues. A good Support Worker here is patient, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to different situations with empathy and professionalism. You’ll also be proactive, observant, and comfortable encouraging people to develop their independence and try new things.
Basic IT skills are important, as you’ll use digital systems for recording notes, completing training, and staying connected as part of the team. You’ll show a commitment to your own learning and development, embracing the training we provide to ensure you feel confident and equipped in your role.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who brings positivity, kindness, and respect to every interaction, helping create a safe, supportive, and happy environment for the people who live here.
