Are you Looking for a role where no two days are the same? Join our friendly Adult Services team as a Male Support Worker and make a real difference supporting a fun-loving gentleman in the Muscliff area.

The role Lucas lives independently in his own home in Muscliff, where he is supported to live a fulfilling and active life. He communicates in his own unique and meaningful way using visual aids, PECS cards, signs, and gestures, allowing him to express his choices, preferences, and personality every day.

He has a real sense of adventure and enjoys getting out into the community to explore the things he loves most. Whether it’s spending the day at the local farm meeting the animals, discovering the vibrant sea life at the Oceanarium, or travelling on the chain ferry over to Swanage for a day by the coast, Lucas thrives on his routine of being a part of the community. At home, he enjoys unwinding with music and keeping his mind engaged by completing puzzles.

Lucas is supported on a 2:1 basis and relies on his support team to help him with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, medication, and meal preparation.

As part of our dedicated team, you’ll play an important role in supporting Lucas to live the life he chooses. From helping with daily routines and providing personal support, to accompanying him on exciting community outings and encouraging his interests. You’ll build a rewarding connection with Lucas while making a genuine difference to his wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

Hours

Full Time

This would be a mixture of shifts between 7am – 10pm - Monday - Sunday

This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)

A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:

  • Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
  • Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
  • Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
  • Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
