Job Description

Your next move could be your most meaningful yet.

Whether you've come from retail, hospitality, admin, warehousing, or a job that simply stopped feeling worthwhile - if you're honest, patient, and want to do something that genuinely matters, we want to talk to you.

At MacIntyre, we recruit on values, not CVs. We support adults with learning disabilities in our services across Warrington - and we're looking for people who care about getting it right, not people who've done it before.

Who we're looking for

We hire for attitude and train for everything else. You'll fit here if you:

  • Are naturally patient, warm, and reliable
  • Enjoy working with people and helping them succeed
  • Want a job with real purpose
  • Hold a full manual UK driving licence — you'll be taking the people we support out and about in our vehicles

What the job actually looks like

You'll work closely with adults who have learning disabilities — in their home and out in the community. Some days that means helping with a morning routine; others it's a day out, a swim, a meal out, or helping someone take a step they've been working towards for months. No two days are the same. All of them matter.

Some roles include occasional sleep-in shifts, where you stay overnight in the person's home, ready to provide support if needed. Sleep-ins are paid at £60 per night in Warrington.

Every person we support is different. For example, here are a few people waiting to meet you:

  • "John lives a very active, fast-paced life and needs someone who can keep up. He has a National Trust pass, a safari park membership, and loves swimming — especially the jacuzzi at his David Lloyd gym. He also uses Makaton and PECS to communicate."
  • "Stephen has his own Motability car and loves drives out to Blackpool. He enjoys short walks — especially if there's somewhere nice to eat at the end. He uses Makaton and objects of reference to communicate, and you'll support him with a blood glucose reading twice a day."

What you'll get:

  • Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care — earned while you work
  • Blue Light discount card — savings at hundreds of retailers
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • A supportive team around you — you are never working alone
  • Comprehensive training from day one — no care background required
