We're currently looking to recruit Kitchen Staff. If you're interested then read on and send us an application form.

We employ a large team of student staff. We welcome applications from everyone, so don’t worry if you have never worked in this area before. We have a training programme for all of our staff, which helps you develop a wide variety of skills to take with you once you have finished University.

Requirements

• You are a current York St John University student
• Can work day shifts around university commitments as well as evenings
• Have good time management skills

Main duties whilst working in the Students' Union Kitchen

• Opening and setting up the kitchen for service
• Pre-preparing various food items for service
• Food preparation during service
• Completing an online food safety course, as well as other generic courses provided by the university. These are qualifications that are great to add to your CV
• Ensuring that the kitchen is clean, tidy, and fully prepped for the next person coming in on shift
• Running food from the kitchen to customers in the Bar and Coffee Lounge
• Following and completing the kitchen close down checklist to ensure that the kitchen is closed down correctly, and to a high standard including -

- A full clean down

- Re stocking for the next day

- Ensuring that all paperwork is complete
