Student Ambassador (Registration Support), Academic Services & Online Education (REG182S)

We are looking to recruit a number of Student Ambassadors to work as part of a larger team providing support to students registering for their studies using the University’s Online Registration and MyCurriculum systems. The Registration Support Service operates throughout the main registration period of August-September. Acting as a first point of contact for users of both the University’s Online Registration system and MyCurriculum (the University’s online course selection tool), the successful candidates will respond to enquiries primarily via webchat and email, and occasionally by telephone. There may also be opportunities to provide face-to-face support at the Registration Support helpdesk at the Old Aberdeen campus. Previous experience in customer-facing roles with office or administrative experience would therefore be advantageous. Training will be given on the various University systems used by the Registration Support Service.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for current registered students with experience of using the University’s Online Registration and MyCurriculum systems to work in a support role in a busy, friendly, supportive and rewarding environment

Successful candidates must be available to work throughout the August-September registration period and to attend training sessions in August 2026. A limited amount of work may be available at other points throughout the academic year. Subject to satisfactory performance in the role, there may be the possibility of an extension to the contract.

Working hours/shifts will vary from week to week. Shift patterns will take into account other work commitments and, during term-time, study commitments.

The Registration Support Service operates from a shared office on the Old Aberdeen campus and successful candidates will be required to be on campus for all the shifts they are assigned. Occasionally, arrangements may be made with individuals to work from home, at the discretion of and with the approval of the Ambassador’s line manager.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 1, £25,528.10 per annum or £13.45 per hour.

Informal enquiries should be made to:

Catherine Andrews, Administrative Officer, email: catherine.andrews@abdn.ac.uk or

Matthew Fullerton, Administrative Officer, email: m.fullerton@abdn.ac.uk or

Pat Rowand, Assistant Registrar (Curriculum), email: p.rowand@abdn.ac.uk
