Job Description
This post is available now, on an open ended basis. It is designed to contribute to and lead teaching across a range of programmes where anatomy is a key component primarily to medicine and science students. The individual appointed will join an enthusiastic, hard-working team led by our Regius Professor of Anatomy, Simon Parson, and will be based in the Suttie Centre, Foresterhill, a modern, purpose-built facility https://www.abdn.ac.uk/suttie-centre/index.php where Anatomy labs, office space, storage, display and other teaching spaces are located. Depending on experience, you will quickly develop to lead courses, programmes and functions in Anatomy to support Professor Parson.

The team ensure that a clean, hygienic and safe environment is maintained for students, staff and visitors to the institution. Activities extend right across the academic and administrative buildings on the Estate, and also incorporate services to the University libraries and sports facilities, and provide support for institutional events and other on campus activities.
Job Description
Post holders may be based at any premises the University occupies and may be required to work at any University location, so a flexible approach is important.
Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, and being reliable are all essential requirements.
The successful candidates will ideally have experience in the cleaning industry and be conversant with relevant Health and Safety procedures and protocols, including COSHH and manual handling.
Hours of work: 20 hours per week, mainly based around Monday - Friday 0600 – 1000 hours but occasional weekend working may be required to support events and student activity.
Successful candidates will be expected to carry out duties until approximately 31 December 2026.
Salary will be paid on the Grade 1 salary scale, £24,554 per annum pro rata (£12.93 per hour) for the number of hours worked.

Applications are invited for an independent and highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join Prof Valerie Speirs group at the University of Aberdeen to work on a project “Predicting Response in Triple Negative Breast Cancer Using Machine Learning”. We seek to appoint a creative and motivated individual to use machine learning (ML) to identify why some patients with triple negative breast cancer experience early relapse while others don’t. This is a collaborative project involving Prof Joanne Edwards (University of Glasgow) and Prof Dr Jakob Kather (Technical University of Dresden). The post is funded by the Chief Scientist’s Office (CSO) of the Scottish Government, and the successful candidate will spend two training blocks in Germany in the laboratory of Prof Dr Kather, a world leader in the application of ML to cancer.
Job Description

Job Description
The posts will be based in the Zoology Museum, Zoology building, Tillydrone Avenue.
Experience of effectively welcoming and assisting the public is essential. The candidate will be expected to provide a high standard of customer care, work as part of a team and be responsive to visitors.
The candidate will be working as sole gallery invigilator on shift, contacting managers or Security when required, so must be capable of working independently.
An interest in Zoology and the natural sciences and in the work of museums is essential. Prior experience of working or volunteering with children and families is desirable.
