Teaching Fellow, Geosciences (GEO485A)

We are seeking a 1.0 FTE Teaching Fellow in Cultural Heritage for a 10-month post to provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching cover for a faculty member on research leave.

Job Description

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, research-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with scope to shape teaching around their own expertise. We welcome applications from scholars working in community heritage and archaeology, critical heritage studies, or public archaeology. Applicants should have strong communication skills, be comfortable engaging diverse audiences, and work effectively as part of a team.

The post is based in a leading archaeology department, ranked 1st in the UK for Archaeology (The Times Good University Guide 2026), with regional strengths spanning Northern Europe, Scandinavia, the North Atlantic, and other high-latitude regions. The department draws on the University’s rich museum collections and strong cross-departmental interest in cultural heritage.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £38,784 - £46,049 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
