Job Description

  • Implement a physical development programme for players aged 8-16 within the Player Development Pathway;

  • Design and deliver high-quality strength and conditioning sessions throughout a 30-session season, adapting activities to meet individual player needs;

  • Support player development through physical testing, sharing results alongside players' personalised development plans;

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with players and coaches, in line with Foundation, FA and professional standards;

  • Work collaboratively with coaches to integrate strength and conditioning principles into the wider player development programme, including supporting injury prevention initiatives;

  • Promote a safe, supportive and player-centred environment for all participants, fulfilling safeguarding responsibilities in line with Foundation policies and procedures.

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of youth physical development and age-appropriate training practices;

  • A BSc in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, or a related discipline, with UKSCA accreditation (or working towards);

  • In-date FA First Aid and FA Safeguarding Children qualifications;

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with players, parents/carers and colleagues;

  • Availability to work Monday and/or Friday evenings.
