What we’re looking for

The Strategy & Corporate Development Manager will play a central role in supporting the Group's long-term growth strategy. Working closely with the Strategy & Corporate Development Director, the role will support the development of Group strategy, evaluation and execution of acquisition opportunities, and management of selected high-priority strategic initiatives.

This position is a strong fit for someone with a commercial mindset who thrives on a wide variety of strategic work and seeks substantial exposure to senior-level decision-making.

The role requires the flexibility to move between live deal work and strategic projects as priorities demand.

What we offer you

  • Genuine breadth and exposure: a rare combination of strategy, M&A and strategic project delivery in one role, with access to senior leadership and exposure to exec-level decision-making
  • A key role in shaping the Group's growth agenda, from acquisitions and portfolio diversification through to strategic initiatives
  • Real ownership of projects: ability to take projects from initial analysis through to execution and results
  • A small, effective function where your contribution is highly visible and directly shapes outcomes
  • The opportunity to work for an organization that has a clear sense of purpose, is guided by values and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes
  • Full-time permanent position

The role

  • Support the development and evolution of Group strategy and strategic priorities, including the assessment of organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Conduct competitive, market, and industry analysis (classification, advisory, and maritime software markets)
  • Direct and coordinate selected organization-wide strategic projects, providing central governance for key initiatives and ensuring clear ownership, milestones, accountability, and effective decision-making
  • Prepare board and executive committee papers on strategic topics and investment / partnership opportunities
  • Build close relationships across the Group, particularly with senior business and functional leaders, working closely with Finance, Legal, HR, Operations and other functions on strategic initiatives and transactions
  • Encourage stakeholders across the Group to align strategic initiatives and investment decisions with agreed objectives and to deliver lasting value.
  • Support the identification, assessment and execution of acquisition, disposal, investment and strategic partnership opportunities
  • Contribute to financial modeling, valuation, and business case preparation for deal activity
  • Support transaction execution, working with internal stakeholders and external advisers, by coordinating internal and external due diligence workstreams
  • Support post-acquisition integration planning and tracking of transaction value creation

What you bring

  • The ideal candidate will typically have extensive professional experience, potentially gained within:
    • Corporate strategy and/or corporate development
    • Strategy or management consulting
    • Investment banking / M&A advisory
    • Big Four Deals, Transaction Services (FDD or CDD), Corporate Finance
    • Or a strategy, transformation or strategic projects function within a large corporate.
  • You offer sound strategic and commercial judgment, solid financial skills, and the ability to lead complex projects that involve multiple teams.
  • Robust skills in financial modeling and valuation
  • Comfortable shifting between detailed quantitative analysis and broader qualitative strategic thinking
  • Ability to build credibility quickly and gain support from senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Writes clearly and effectively, delivering board-ready content with minimal editing needed
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities on your own in a small team environment
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • A self-directed approach and a readiness to see work through from analysis to implementation.

You are someone who

  • Is keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs
  • Is able to self-manage and prioritize tasks towards reaching goals
  • Is effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisions
  • Is ready and willing to take initiatives
