Description
Department: Promotion & Design Service Group
SUMMARY
The Staff Analyst helps The First Church of Christ, Scientist and the Christian Science Publishing Society better understand how members, customers, and audiences engage with Church products, services, communications, and outreach. This role interprets data from multiple sources into clear insights, practical recommendations, and accessible reporting that support client departments, product teams, editorial teams, and leadership.
P&DSG is a service-based group that shapes and guides, from a metaphysical foundation, the promotion and extension of products, services, and events that constitute the "healing and saving" resources of The Mother Church (see Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 19:1).
Aligned with the mission of P&DSG and reporting to the Head of Promotions and Analytics, the Staff Analyst is responsible for producing analysis and recommendations across key measurement areas — including customer experience, content performance, product engagement, promotional effectiveness, and global Church activity. The role requires solid analytical judgment and growing technical capability, including the ability to gather, organize, analyze, and present data for a range of stakeholders, typically in collaboration with senior analytics staff.
The Staff Analyst supports cross-functional work by partnering with P&DSG team members and client departments to deepen the organization's understanding of how readers engage across websites, email, surveys, social media, and other channels. In collaboration with senior staff, this position contributes to the ongoing refinement of analytics processes and reporting, with a focus on making data insights clear, accurate, and actionable.
The right candidate will bring strong analytical instincts, curiosity, a collaborative working style, and a genuine interest in the mission of the Church — along with an appreciation for the role that data and insight play in connecting people with resources that matter to them.
