We are recruiting for a Senior Transition Mentor to join our Supported Accommodation programme in South Ayrshire.
Supported Accommodation South Ayrshire aims to support the local authority’s goal of reducing levels of repeat homelessness by providing a high-quality housing support service in Ayr. You will provide day-to-day leadership to Transition Mentors, support rota planning, and help ensure young people receive safe, compassionate and person-centred support.
- Develop positive and supportive relationships with your staff team.
- Support the Service Coordinator with robust rota planning and staffing cover to ensure all working shifts are covered
- Ensure staff are using support plans to record and assess the progress of the people we are supporting.
- Ensure person centred planning and unconditional positive regard is undertaken by staff.
- Regularly audit the files of the people we support.
- Ensure the needs of the people we support are being met by the staff.
- Ensure ‘Keeping You Safe Plans’ for those we support are completed and updated.
- Arrange and facilitate regular support and supervision sessions with your team members, utilising best practice in performance management to ensure staff are supported to undertake their roles.
- Complete yearly appraisals and personal development plans with your staff team.

You will have relevant experience in social care, housing or homelessness with the ability to lead and motivate a staff team. You should have, or be willing to work towards SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare or equivalent.

What you can expect from us...
- The post holder will report to the Service Coordinator
- Your normal working hours are an average of 39 per week, worked Monday to Sunday in shifts which are defined by your line manager on a rolling rota over a 52-week period.
- Your usual place of work will be 42 Chalmers Road, Ayr, KA7 2JQ
- Annual leave entitlement of 234 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata in your first year, rising to 312 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata in your second year. This includes public holidays
- You will automatically be enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3-months of employment, providing you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
