Job Description
Senior Support Worker
About the role
We're looking for a caring Senior Support Worker to join MacIntyre and help us deliver an excellent quality of life for the people we support.
You'll play a hands-on, senior role within the team, supporting people with their person-centred plans, personal care and daily lives, while also helping to coach, mentor and supervise colleagues. You'll be a role model for great practice, stepping up in the absence of the Frontline or Deputy Manager and making sure the people we support always come first.
Why MacIntyre?
At MacIntyre, our vision is simple but powerful: for all people with a learning disability to live a life that makes sense to them. Everything we do is guided by our DNA, our values in action, and our commitment to Great Interactions™ and truly Person Centred Approaches.
Join us and you'll be part of an organisation that:
- Celebrates each person's unique gifts, talents and contributions
- Champions self-advocacy, co-production and genuine choice
- Invests in your development, from vocational qualifications to ongoing coaching and support
- Strives for excellence, and Outstanding, in everything it does
What you'll be doing
- Supporting people with personal care, medication, wellbeing and daily living, in line with their person-centred plans
- Helping people build relationships and take part in their local community
- Coaching, mentoring and supervising support staff, and supporting new starters through their induction
- Acting as Linkworker for named individuals as directed
- Contributing to risk assessments, rotas and day-to-day quality of the service
- Stepping up and taking responsibility in the absence of the Frontline or Deputy Manager
Who We're Looking For
- At least 1 year's experience working with people with learning disabilities, autism, or in a related field
- A genuine commitment to person-centred, co-produced support
- Confident supervising, coaching and mentoring others
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with basic IT literacy
- A current driving licence
- Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, waking nights and bank holidays as required
Ready to make a difference?
As a Senior Support Worker, you will manage staff rotas and mentor, train and coach your team. Working with the Manager you will monitor and control expenditure to ensure there are robust budget controls in place. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and our own processes and procedures.
Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for people to do the things they really enjoy. So you must be a driver with a full UK Drivers license.
You will be working 37.5 hours a week on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
