Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint a Senior Registered Nurse with experience in both palliative care and working in the community. The role will work closely with other multidisciplinary team members to provide a timely service to people with deteriorating health, changing needs and in their last weeks of life. The role requires the successful applicant to monitor and support patients who require proactive assessment and care planning to maximise their quality of life and live as fully as possible. Part of the role involves coordination of shifts, patient allocation and line management.

About You:
A successful Senior Registered Nurse will:
  • Possess a qualification in palliative care, or be willing to work towards one
  • Hold a good range of skills and knowledge in palliative care nursing
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Hold the ability to take an active role in workload management and high-quality care, including patient safety and service improvement
  • Have strong decision-making and critical thinking skills and be able to proactively manage a caseload
  • Work in partnership with internal and external healthcare professionals as well as patients and their families
