About this role…

We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the City Outreach and Mobile Intervention Support Team.

The Thames Reach Outreach teams operate across London and help those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.

We will not accept applications where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to assist with completing the competency questions.

You will:

  • Oversee the delivery of the Mobile Intervention Support Team (MIST). MIST ensures that clients that have been accommodated after rough sleeping in the City of London are supported to sustain short-term accommodation.
  • Support the Lead Manager in overseeing the City Outreach Team, which provides an assertive outreach service to rough sleepers in the City of London.
  • Deliver operational management, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Provide supportive line management to client-facing colleagues, ensuring they have what they need to do their job to the best of their ability.
  • Work closely with the Lead Manager to ensure that both teams remain efficient and strategically relevant.
  • Develop relationships with partnership agencies, developing and maintaining effective co-operation.

You will have:

  • A high level of experience delivering support to adults that have experienced multiple disadvantage.
  • An understanding of psychologically informed approaches to supporting people experiencing homelessness.
  • Experience delivering on accommodation outcomes for people who have been homeless, ideally including statutory solutions to homelessness.
  • Demonstrated your ability to prioritise appropriately in a fast-paced environment that manages complex risk.
  • The ability to act as a leader, motivating colleagues whilst ensuring their safety and development.
  • Skills in data manipulation and analysis across generic IT systems.

We are listed in the top 100 UK Best Workplaces 2023 in the UK. As part of a commitment to our employees we offer:

  • Generous holiday allowance – 29 days per year plus 8 public holidays (pro rata).
  • Pension – we contribute 6.5% to your pension when you contribute 1.5%.
  • Excellent development opportunities – career progression, regular supervision and appraisals, and learning programmes to support your career with Thames Reach.
  • Wellbeing support – our 24/7 employee assistance programme and opportunities for TOIL.
  • Life assurance – four times your annual salary and critical illness cover.
  • Other benefits including a blue light discount card, interest free season ticket and cycle to work loans.
