Emmaus Cambridge is recruiting Senior Catering Assistants to support the Catering Manager in in delivering high-quality catering, mentoring residents, and running smooth operations across our community kitchen and Joan’s Coffee Shop.
We are looking for Senior Catering Assistants to join our catering team. Full and part time positions are available, and roles will include at least one weekend day.
The Senior Catering Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality catering services and mentoring residents. They also ensure seamless operations across both Joan’s Coffee Shop and our community kitchen. The thriving coffee shop offers a friendly welcome for customers to enjoy delicious meals, snacks and drinks. The community kitchen is where all meals for residents are prepared. It also gives residents a place to develop skills such as food preparation and teamwork.
You will split your time between both locations on a rota basis, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations, while mentoring residents in food preparation, kitchen safety, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, community, and empowerment. It also suits someone who thrives in a collaborative environment where every contribution makes a difference.

Emmaus is a unique, secular organisation supporting people affected by homelessness and social exclusion. There are currently 28 Emmaus communities across the UK, stretching from Glasgow to Dover and Norfolk to South Wales. Collectively, the Emmaus Federation supports more than 1,000 people with experience of homelessness.
