Senior Admissions Support Worker 

At The Nelson Trust, we support people affected by substance use and multiple disadvantages to make positive, lasting changes in their lives. Through our trauma-informed services, we empower individuals to achieve recovery, improve wellbeing and build brighter futures.

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Senior Admissions Support Worker to join our welcoming Admissions Team. As the first point of contact for individuals accessing our residential rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, safe and supportive experience from the very beginning of their recovery journey. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with assessment experience, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for leading and developing others

Salary: £29,000 - £30,500 per annum 
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm (with flexibility to work outside normal hours when required) 
Pension: Auto-enrolment pension with 6% employer contribution 
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire

What will you do? 

  • Complete client risk and needs assessments
  • Support clients through the admissions process
  • Build positive relationships with referrers and partners
  • Support families and signpost to relevant services
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Admissions Team
  • Line manage and support new team members
  • Maintain accurate records, data and reports
  • Promote trauma-informed and person-centered practice

What we are looking for 

  • Full UK driving license and access to a car
  • Experience supporting people affected by substance misuse
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and IT skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience supporting or supervising colleagues
  • A warm, empathetic and professional approach
