What is a Sanctuary Scheme
A Sanctuary Scheme, also known as Target Hardening, is a specialist domestic abuse service designed to help victim-survivors remain safely in their own homes where it is their choice to do so. The programme involves carrying out a safety assessment and implementing practical security measures, such as upgraded locks, window security, personal alarms, security lighting, and other protective adaptations tailored to the individual’s circumstances.
We are working in partnership to ensure the scheme is offered to referrals received into our service to help reduce the risk of further abuse, increase personal safety, and provide reassurance and stability for adults and children affected by domestic abuse.
