Acorns Children's Hospice are now looking for a Deputy Superstore General Manager to work alongside our Chelmsley Wood Superstore General Manager, leading a team of volunteers & Deputy Managers, achieving set targets and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, including some weekend working.
About the Role
Acorns Children's Hospice are a children's charity, offering specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families. Every year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved. We have a network of charity shops across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, which help to provide the funding that we need to provide this care.
As Deputy Superstore General Manager, you will:
- Support the Superstore Manager in creating a vibrant, engaging shop-floor experience that differentiates Acorns from competitors and reflects our brand values
- Make informed decisions on stock quality, pricing, and visual merchandising to maximise appeal, sales, and customer satisfaction
- Oversee and support efficient processes for the collection, delivery, sorting, and processing of donated goods to ensure smooth superstore operations.
- Provide inspirational leadership to a diverse team of volunteers and deputy managers, motivating and supporting them by recognising their skills, experience and potential
- Drive the achievement of sales targets by proactively encouraging donations, purchases and Gift Aid sign-ups, using an entrepreneurial and creative approach to income generation
- Represent Acorns in the community
About You
- Retail experience and experience of working towards targets
- Experience of leading a team
- Proven problem solver who can manage conflicting priorities and achieves positive outcomes.
- Happy to work weekends
- Enjoy a role that involves significant levels of manual handling
