The role:
Bradford No Second Night Out project provides support to new and entrenched rough sleepers. The scheme offers a range of accommodation, outreach, assessment and advice as well as coordinating the delivery of the Cold Weather provision for rough sleepers in Bradford. As a resident support volunteer, you would assist the team in supporting residents’ needs.
Tasks may include:
- To work with residents, establishing their hobbies and areas of interest.
- To develop and implement activities that are culturally and sensitively appropriate
- To encourage and motivate residents to take part in the activities.
- To ensure some activities involve social inclusion.
- To share any concerns about residents with a staff member.
- To respect peoples’ differences.
- To work within agreed professional boundaries at all times and in line with Waythrough policies and procedures
Skills we would like you to bring to the role:
- Good IT skills
- Good written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to keep a track of multiple tasks and report back on progress
- Non-judgmental towards people with lived experience
- Confident to contact people by email / phone
- Good time keeping
- Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction

- A genuine interest in being part of the mission and vision of Waythrough
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to Waythrough policies and media guidelines, engage in supervision, and complete relevant training
