Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high quality, person-centred support.
  • Hold CQC Registered Manager status and ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory and organisational standards.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the staff team through effective supervision, recruitment and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, practice and service outcomes.
  • Manage service budgets and ensure financial processes are followed.
  • Build positive relationships with families, commissioners and partner agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance processes are robust and effective.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager with a strong track record in learning disability services who can lead teams, strengthen practice and support services to reach their full potential.

You will need demonstrate your skills and experience as follows:

  • Previous experience as a CQC Registered Managerwithin learning disability services, with genuine enthusiasm and drive for delivering outstanding support.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standardsand a track record of effectively embedding these within service delivery.
  • Strong leadership and practice skills, with confidence and credibility in managing complex services
  • Track record of supporting services to gain better CQC ratings.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
  • Experience improving service quality and embedding good practice.
  • Confidence managing complex situations with professionalism and integrity.
  • Energy, resilience and a hands-on leadership style.
  • Experience managing and developing large, diverse teams, including both new and highly experienced staff members.
  • Expertise in assessment and transition planning, ensuring robust, safe, and well-considered moves for those we support.
  • Creativity and vision to lead service development, introducing new ideas thoughtfully and at a pace that supports people and staff alike.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and support teams, while confidently addressing skills gaps or performance issues when needed.
  • Resilience and readiness to hit the ground running, bringing energy and focus to a challenging and rewarding environment.
  • Collaborative approach, knowing when to seek support and use available resources effectively,our organisation will stand behind you.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, with proven experience in implementing and sustaining quality enhancements across services.
  • Hands-on leadership style, leading by example, staying present, engaged, and responsive to the day-to-day needs of the service.
  • Courage and integrity to challenge issues, address complex situations, and maintain balance and professionalism throughout.

About the Service

Lemsford Road is a registered care home in St Albans supporting up to 11 adults with complex needs. The service operates across two buildings on the same site and has a strong foundation with significant opportunity to further develop the quality of support and outcomes for the people who live there.

We are looking for a committed and passionate manager who can build on this potential, support the team to grow and ensure the people we support live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

This role requires flexibility and may include some weekend working and participation in an on-call rota.
