Refuge Out of Hours Worker – Weekends (Female*)

  • Part-time, 6.5 hours per shift (Saturday 15:30 – 22:30 and/or Sunday 15:30 – 22:30)
  • Salary £5,009 per annum for one shift or £10,018 per annum for both Saturday and Sunday

Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, trafficking, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women’s Lives Leeds.

We are looking for an empowering and supportive Refuge Out of Hours Worker to join our team. The Out-of-hours Team are the first point of contact for, and access to LDVS for any person experiencing domestic violence and abuse. We work with victim-survivors providing a 24-hour helpline service and specialist guidance to our residents residing at our refuge accommodation.

You will need:

  • A good understanding of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on victim survivors, children and their families
  • Experience of telephone based and/or customer service advice or support work
  • The ability to work under pressure in stressful or difficult situations
  • Great listening skills
  • Able to work within an operational multi agency environment

The closing date is 9.00 am on Monday 15th June 2026; interviews will be held on Thursday 25th June 2026.
