Make a real difference in your community
Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.
About the role
Waythrough’s Supported Housing service allows tenants to develop skills and coping strategies to manage their own tenancies and mental health needs.
We work with people on a one to one basis, using a recovery based model and individual support planning to empower them to develop opportunities, gain skills and experience and make positive choices in their lives.
We have seven self-contained flats for people to develop the skills needed to move on to more independent living, with our staff working individually with tenants to develop practical and emotional tools and skills to become and stay independent
What we are looking for
- Experience in supported living, mental health, care, or social work (preferred)
- A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve independence
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex situations
- Ability to motivate, support and advocate for people using services
- Willingness to undertake medication training, the Care Certificate, and work towards a Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including weekends and sleep-ins
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
