Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role:

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coordinator to support individuals affected by drug and alcohol use. In this role, you will manage a caseload by developing, implementing, and reviewing personalised recovery and treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

You will provide psychosocial interventions, brief interventions, and holistic care planning to support individuals in reducing harm and making sustainable positive changes. Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, you will guide individuals from initial assessment through structured treatment and into recovery and onward care.

If you are passionate about empowering others, promoting wellbeing, and making a meaningful difference within the community, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a service user caseload, devising, implementing and reviewing ongoing recovery plans and treatment.

  • Carry out triage/screening assessments and comprehensive assessments with service users.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support progression from engagement through structured treatment to sustained recovery.

  • Facilitate access to treatment and community resources to increase recovery and social capital.

  • Complete care planning, safeguarding assessments, risk assessments and risk management plans.

  • Deliver psychosocial interventions in both 1:1 and group settings.

  • Support harm reduction initiatives including BBV testing, needle exchange and tailored alcohol and drug interventions.

  • Promote visible recovery and peer support opportunities across the service.

  • Reduce substance-related harm to individuals and the wider community.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using online case management systems.

  • Work flexibly across operational sites where required, including evening and weekend working where applicable.

About You:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent/higher qualification), or willingness to work towards this qualification in post.

  • Relevant professional qualification such as addiction studies, counselling, social work, or a therapeutic qualification.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Understanding of, and ability to deliver, interventions including Brief Interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), PSI, CBT, and ITEP. Experience delivering both 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions.

  • Experience working with individuals affected by substance use and complex needs.
