Caritas St Joseph’s Centre is seeking a warm, organised and reliable Reception and Administration Assistant to be the welcoming face of our Centre. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the day-to-day administration of the Centre while providing excellent customer service to visitors, students and staff.

About the Role

As Reception and Administration Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of reception services and administrative support across St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre (SJPC). You will work closely with colleagues to create a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all who use the Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the reception desk in line with Centre policies and customer service values
  • Welcome visitors and students, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Ensure visitors sign in and out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
  • Manage name badges for all Centre users
  • Handle general email enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain stationery stock levels at reception
  • Provide administrative support to SJPC
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Understanding or experience of working with people with disabilities
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Diocese of Westminster
  • Sensitivity and respect for diverse groups

Desirable:

  • A desire and commitment to work for the Catholic Church
  • Basic understanding of the Catholic Church and its structure

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
