Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.

Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

At Waythrough, we believe everyone deserves a safe, secure, and welcoming place to call home. Our Housing & Property Services team plays a vital role in achieving this, ensuring our properties meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality.

We’re now looking for a Property Compliance Specialist to join us and help drive excellence in property safety and compliance across our national portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our properties are fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements. You’ll take ownership of compliance tracking, remedial works, and contractor performance, making sure we act quickly to reduce risk and keep everyone safe.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on compliance across key areas such as gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and lifts
  • Driving the completion of remedial works following inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Managing contractor compliance, including certifications, performance, and relationships
  • Maintaining accurate, auditable compliance records and trackers
  • Supporting reporting for senior leadership and governance
  • Developing and managing plans such as water management and asbestos management plans
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and local services to ensure responsive issue resolution

You’ll also deputise for the Repairs, Maintenance & Compliance Lead when required, playing a key role in shaping how we deliver safe, compliant homes.

About you

We’re looking for someone organised, proactive, and passionate about safety and quality.

You will bring:

  • Strong knowledge of building safety and compliance areas (e.g., gas, EICR, asbestos, legionella)
  • Experience working with contractors, landlords, or service providers
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confidence using systems and data to track performance and produce reports
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • A keen eye for detail, with the ability to assess risk and challenge where needed

Desirably, you may also have experience in social housing, compliance planning, or relevant qualifications, but we’re equally keen to support ongoing development.
