Project Manager
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Syria is an international humanitarian NGO, registered in Syria since 2013 and working in the sectors of WASH, shelter, education, health, protection, livelihoods and food security. ADRA Syria is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual based in Damascus to oversee the implementation of an Education in Emergencies Project implemented in Rural Damascus, Idlib, Latakia and Deir ez-Zour.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Coordinate the implementation of the project and all activities in accordance with the proposal, donor agreement and ADRA policies, in coordination with area managers and technical focal points
- Visit each project location at a minimum every 2 months, preparing field visit reports for each visit.
- Build the capacity of field workers and verify the reports received from the field
- Compile accurate, informative monthly and final reports, as scheduled, and submit to the Program Director
- Provide regular updates to the donor and coordinate with sub-offices
- Ensure the accurate monitoring and reporting of project indicators in coordination with the MEAL department
- Compile all needed supporting documents for the interim / final reports in accordance with the proposal and MEAL plan
- Collect and submit impact stories and other requested information
- Monitor the project budget and expenditure ensuring compliance with line items and procedures.
Other
- Participate in capacity building and training sessions as assigned
- Comply with all security regulations as well as code of conduct and safeguarding
- Any other responsibilities as requested
Qualifications:
- BA or MA in development, education, protection, social work, project management, or any related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in implementing humanitarian projects
- Experience in managing education in emergencies or protection orientated projects
- Experience with ECHO funded projects is an added value
- Experience working with local partners / remote monitoring is an added value
- Fluency in English, spoken and written, is a must.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent Microsoft office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment, as a team player
- Strong facilitation and coordination skills
