Commitment: 1 day per week (remote) for 2 months
PRIFF is seeking a small number of volunteer Project Development Reviewers to support the assessment process for their inaugural Short Film Fund.
As the selected projects may receive financial support and become associated with the festival, PRIFF is specifically looking for individuals with a strong understanding of independent filmmaking and film production.
At the initial stage, applicants will be submitting project decks and supporting materials rather than completed films or full scripts. Reviewers will therefore help assess projects based on the strength of their creative vision, production understanding, feasibility, clarity of presentation, and overall filmmaking potential.
The role is best suited to individuals with experience in filmmaking, producing, directing, screenwriting, development, festival programming, or related creative industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Review assigned project submissions and supporting materials
- Assess projects from both creative and practical production perspectives
- Evaluate clarity of vision, feasibility, ambition, and professionalism
- Provide concise internal notes and shortlist recommendations
- Participate in at least one review discussion with the fund team
About you:
- Have a strong understanding of independent film production
- Can critically assess emerging film projects and creative proposals
- Understand the realities of low-budget and independent filmmaking
- Have strong communication and analytical skills
- Can approach projects thoughtfully, constructively, and professionally
