Hours: Full time

We are recruiting a Programme Assistant – Digital Futures to provide administrative, coordination, and operational support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the Digital Futures Programme in Ghana

Sightsavers and Mastercard Foundation is partnering with Digital Futures, a bold initiative under the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy and Sightsavers’ mission to promote inclusive development. The programme aims to improve access to dignified and fulfilling work for young people with disabilities across Africa, with a strong focus on young women.

Over five years, the programme will enrol 12,200 young people with disabilities, at least 70% of whom will be women and reach over 14,700 others through community engagement. By providing market-relevant digital, IT, and entrepreneurship training, seed funding, and systemic engagement with employers, policymakers, and representative organisations, the programme addresses barriers to inclusion in the digital economy and supports the development of inclusive ecosystems and workforce practices.

Role purpose

The Programme Assistant will provide administrative, coordination, and operational support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the Digital Futures Programme in Ghana. The role supports communication, logistics, partner coordination, reporting, and learning processes, enabling the Programme Officer and partners to deliver high-quality, timely results.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate day-to-day programme administration and support consistent communication between the Programme Officer, implementing partners, and internal teams.
  • Support preparation, editing, and formatting of programme reports and partner submissions for internal and donor audiences.
  • Track partner workplans, deliverables, deadlines, and follow-ups; escalate risks or delays as needed.
  • Provide operational support to partners, including basic budgeting/expenditure tracking support and compliance documentation.
  • Support outreach, mobilisation, and inclusive selection of beneficiaries; help maintain beneficiary records and profiles.
  • Support planning and delivery of workshops, trainings, field activities, and stakeholder engagements (agendas, participant lists, logistics, accessibility, evaluations).
  • Assist procurement and vendor coordination in line with organisational policies (quotes, purchase requests, venue/catering/materials/equipment logistics).
  • Organise programme documentation and evidence (reports, records, photos, case studies) and maintain accurate filing on SharePoint.
  • Support collection of stories and communication content, ensuring ethical standards, safeguarding, and informed consent.
  • Identify and escalate operational/contextual risks; support implementation of safeguarding, data protection, and do-no-harm principles.
