Job title: Programme Assistant, Business and Disability Network (BDN) Coordinator

Job location:   Accra, Ghana

Salary: Local Terms and Conditions apply

Contract: Two-Year Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: Full time

We are recruiting a Business and Disability Network (BDN) Programme Assistant to coordinate and grow the Ghana Business and Disability Network.

Sightsavers and Mastercard Foundation is partnering with Digital Futures, a bold initiative under the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy and Sightsavers’ mission to promote inclusive development. The programme aims to improve access to dignified and fulfilling work for young people with disabilities across Africa, with a strong focus on young women.

Over five years, the programme will enrol 12,200 young people with disabilities, at least 70% of whom will be women and reach over 14,700 others through community engagement. By providing market-relevant digital, IT, and entrepreneurship training, seed funding, and systemic engagement with employers, policymakers, and representative organisations, the programme addresses barriers to inclusion in the digital economy and supports the development of inclusive ecosystems and workforce practices.

Role purpose
We are recruiting a Business and Disability Network (BDN) Programme Assistant to coordinate and grow the Ghana Business and Disability Network (GBDN): a network of employers committed to disability inclusion. The postholder will support member organisations to strengthen inclusive employment practices, facilitate learning and peer exchange, and connect businesses with Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), service providers, and other stakeholders. The role will also ensure network activity delivers tangible value to members and aligns with national and international disability rights frameworks (including UNCRPD).

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Manage day-to-day network operations (member onboarding, enquiries, member profiles, and communications).
  • Lead (with the Steering Committee) strategy development and membership growth campaigns; implement onboarding protocols.
  • Plan and deliver an annual calendar of activities (career fairs, learning events, employer roundtables, peer exchange sessions, webinars, and campaigns).
  • Coordinate logistics, speakers, accessible materials, timelines, and budgets; ensure quality delivery and alignment with programme and donor requirements.
  • Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and learning (data collection, reporting, lessons learned, case studies, and success stories) in collaboration with the MEL team.
  • Develop and disseminate communications materials (newsletters, success stories, tools) and support advocacy on the business case for disability inclusion.
  • Provide financial/administrative support including basic budget tracking, projections, and purchase requests.
  • Support fundraising by building relationships with corporate partners and donors; contribute to pitches, proposals and stewardship.
  • Support risk management and safeguarding, including promoting safeguarding, data protection and do-no-harm approaches with network members.
