Purpose and Responsibilities
This role is vital to the success of our private sector work in Ghana and beyond. Reporting to the Just Economy Program and Policy Manager, and based in our office in Accra, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and advise for our programs and policy influencing team and various private sector advocacy and policy influencing efforts in the country program, and contributes to Oxfam’s regional, continental, and global private sector campaign and influencing objectives in Ghana.
Your responsibilities will include providing policy analysis, research, and strategic advice in support of all program policy as well as to design and lead implementation of private sector engagement and influencing strategies across the just economy, gender justice and accountable governance agenda. The role will further facilitate direct strategic accompaniment to partners and collaborators to meet the strategic ambitions of the private sector work in Ghana.
You will be responsible for developing and managing relations with partner organizations, media, state agencies, local authorities, private sector among others and ensure proper implementation of activities and delivery of private sector results in a programmatic and transformative partnership approach. You are responsible for dedicated and targeted engagement with private sector, government, civil society coalitions, and influential persons in various fora.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for private sector development, gender justice, and women’s economic empowerment. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field (development studies, international development, gender and development, or equivalent) and have 3–5 years of experience in international development, with a strong track record in project management, advocacy, and policy influencing.
Key requirements include:
- Expertise in private sector engagement, women’s rights, gender and human rights, and economic justice.
- Proven ability to lead campaigns, research, and analysis for advocacy and influencing work.
- Strong organizational development and project management skills, with experience meeting deadlines and managing teams.
- Excellent networking, influencing, and presentation skills to engage effectively with government, private sector, and other decision-makers.
- Demonstrated leadership as a team player and manager, able to build and drive strategic initiatives across diverse teams.
