Priest in Charge - Hall Green, St Peter and Hall Green, St Michael

Birmingham
Full-time
7th June 2026
Listed today

The Bishop of Birmingham seeks a new Priest in Charge to lead the two parishes of St Peter’s and St Michael’s in Hall Green. Both churches are deeply rooted in their local community and seek to welcome and include all, valuing their strong sense of fellowship.

St Peter’s is inspired by the liberal Anglican tradition and seeks a priest ‘rooted in prayer and guided by love’ who will help the church to continue to grow, particularly among younger generations, as a welcoming, flourishing and hopeful Christian community. The Eucharist is at the heart of St Peter’s life and thoughtful worship and depth and relevance of preaching are very important.

St. Michael’s is a Local Ecumenical Partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church; it also has an excellent relationship with Birmingham Vineyard East, which is based there. A significant development of the church site is being considered as part of the diocesan response to the ‘Coming Home’ report and growing the confidence and gifts of the congregation and encouraging lay leadership will be important alongside this.

The combined population of the parishes is 25,062, of whom two thirds are adherents of other world faiths.
