Are you a natural storyteller with a passion for making a real difference? Do you thrive on building relationships, getting out into communities, and bringing powerful stories to life? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for a PR & Community Marketing Officer to help elevate our voice, strengthen our reputation, and connect our work with the communities we serve.
Working closely with the Fundraising & Communications Manager and wider teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful PR, media, and community marketing activity. From securing positive media coverage to uncovering inspiring human stories, you’ll help showcase the difference our organisation makes every day.
This is a highly varied and people-focused role, where no two days are the same. One day you might be pitching to journalists, the next attending a community event, visiting services, or building partnerships across our regions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating and delivering engaging PR and marketing campaigns across media and community channels
- Building strong relationships with local and national media
- Identifying and sharing powerful stories, case studies, and supporter experiences
- Supporting fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events through creative promotion
- Representing the organisation at events, networking opportunities, and community engagements
- Visiting services to gather stories and strengthen internal engagement
- Acting as a passionate brand champion
- Monitoring media coverage and trends to inform future campaigns
- Responding to media enquiries and supporting reputation management
Where You’ll Work
This is a hybrid role combining home working, office time, and regular travel across:
London, Kent, Surrey, Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Shropshire, Norfolk, and Hampshire.
You’ll spend a significant amount of time out in the community, so flexibility is key. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, and all reasonable travel expenses are covered.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in PR, marketing, or communications (charity/not-for-profit experience is a bonus)
- Strong storytelling skills and the ability to engage different audiences
- Confidence in building relationships with media, stakeholders, and community partners
- A proactive, creative approach with excellent organisational skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a busy, varied role
Why Join Us?
This is more than just a marketing role - it’s an opportunity to amplify voices, build meaningful connections, and make a genuine impact in people’s lives.
